There's never been anything like this rain before. I hear the monster growling, low and mean, his voice is the wind roaring all around us. This isn't like rain at all - there aren't raindrops, but big sheets of solid water, like a waterfall crashing down from the sky... Yesterday, Jose thought about music, girls, sports, his favourite ice-cream; he watched wild parrots fly across his home; he dreamed of travelling the world. But when the hurricane hits his little toen, it seems to swallow the sun.
