RIVER OF THE SUN is set in the Amazon River Basin during the days following WW II. The characters are a group of men and one woman on an expedition searching for a legendary river. This tributary of the Amazon is in an area reported to be rich in oil. The descriptions of the sullen natives, the oppressive jungle, and the endless, swollen river are excellent. The plot encompasses a mystery, a love affair and a hair-raising escape.
