Then, a demand for a hundred thousand pounds from the Swallow Sugar Corporation, under threat of introducing glass into some of its bags of sugar, also bore all the hallmarks of a Sipson scheme. But it arrived on the opening day of Herbert's Old Bailey trial. So how could he have been responsible?
