Mr. Augustus Whipple spends most of his time reading detective stories and thrillers. And his hobby stands him in good stead when he is faced with crimes in real life, for his fictional experiences enable him to find a solution to two mysterious murders, which comes as a surprise to the police and his next door neighbour, Inspector Gallers of Scotland Yard.
