Village Sins

The village folk of picturesque Halfpenny Dun appear to lead serene lives. Then Beryl Lisamore, assistant head of the school, is found dead in her cottage and Inspector Paton finds himself uncovering secrets that would have been better left alone. Who taught Beryl's parrot these obscenities? Who holds drunken orgies in the garden? Is the vicar quite what he seems, and what are the wives up to when their husbands are away?
