Reno, Will, and Annie finally set out to make their way to Reno’s ranch in northern California. But they add a young man down on his luck to their ride. Les McBride has been the victim of unscrupulous men on his ‘tour’ of the West.
Although Reno isn’t completely healed from his serious wound, they start off and decide to make the long trip on horseback.
That might be a mistake.
Through Reno’s recurrent weakness and some illness, they make their way south toward Cheyenne where they will board a train for California, and Les will go East to his father.
