Lioness (2023)
Emily Perkins
"I was so gripped by this astoundingly good book. Rich, disturbing, deep, sharp and unputdownable. Gave me shivers about women, families, the masks we wear, how hard it is to tear them off - and what happens when we do."
Seven and a Half (2022)
Christos Tsiolkas
"Rejecting the rage of contemporary politics for a tender celebration of sensuality, nature, memory and love, 7 1/2 makes a defiant claim: that even now, as the world burns, beauty is worth our attention. In this thrilling mashup of autobiography, homage, film and fiction, Tsiolkas presents a rebellious paean to joy and artistic freedom. I've admired the risk and power of all his novels, but this might be riskiest of all-so personal, so delicate and true-and I love it."
