(2011)
A novel by

Sara Peterson, is an heiress from New York City. Injured due to a carriage accident that took the life of her mother, Sara walks with a limp and has ugly scars on one leg. She is engaged to Montague Fordice, a man hand-picked by her father for her, but she doesn't love Monty. What she does love are the horses that her father raises. When she rides them, they are her legs, her wings.

Jack Wheeler is a native of Saratoga Springs. He's been away from home for a while studying veterinary medicine at Cornell University, but has returned with the hope of clearing his father's name and getting him out of jail. His father, George Wheeler, was sent to prison for slashing the legs of Bond Peterson's (Sara's father's) horse just before the Travers Stakes. Jack has secured a job as a groom handling Bond Peterson's horses, and he plans on getting Sara to trust him so he can get information from her which could exonerate his father.

As the two are thrown together, sparks fly between the young couple. But can Sara and Jack overcome everything to forge a love that will surpass all odds?
