Dee Williams

Dee Williams was born and brought up in Rotherhithe in East London where her father worked as a stevedore in Surrey Docks. It was when she was living in Spain with her husband that she decided to have a go at writing a novel, digging into her own wartime memories.

After a talk given to the RNA by Sue Fletcher of Headline Publishing, Dee discovered that Headline were looking for saga writers. She sent the first 3 chapters of her novel to them and a year later, her first novel was published. She has been writing ever since!

Dees novels are set in Rotherhithe between 1900 and 1960.  She has published 20 novels since 1990. and has been a member of the RNA since 1993, and was 7th on the Sunday Times Best Seller list in 1998.

She currently lives near Portsmouth, in Hampshire, UK.
