"Through a Window" is a short story by H. G. Wells (21 September 1866 - 13 August 1946), an English writer now best known for his science fiction writing; however, he also wrote fiction in other genres. In this short story, a man has broken legs, and his only entertainment is watching the river and its affairs through a window.
