Two women are found murdered and partially skeletonized, each hidden in a suitcase beneath a pile of stones on the outskirts of Aarhus. Candles have been placed at the scene, and the skin of one woman is marked with small scars resembling the letter Y, while the other has a rare prairie flower woven into her hair.
Lieutenant Daniel Trokic leads the investigation, which points in several directions: the African continent, religious fanaticism, and a chilling encounter with Denmark's wildlife. But when another woman goes missing, Trokic and his team must race against time to decipher the killer's gruesome messages and uncover the meaning behind the macabre staging of his crimes.
‘Evil Water’ is an exciting, intricately-plotted entry into the world of Danish crime fiction. This is deeper than an ordinary mystery, and the depths and breadths of characterizations will satisfy readers who seek character-driven novels, while the edge-of-the-seat heart-dropping plot twists and turns will appeal to lovers of thriller suspense."
