Joelle Wellington recommends

The Meadowbrook Murders (2025)
Jessica Goodman
"Smart and twisty. As much about a devastating murder as it is about friendship, secrets, and loyalty, with a searing reveal that feels both clever and inevitable in the best way."

Honeysuckle and Bone (2025)
(Honeysuckle and Bone, book 1)
Trisha Tobias
"Rich and haunting, Honeysuckle and Bone is an eerie ghost story that delves deep into an exploration of identity and class. Tobias's masterful handling of a teenage girl's exploration of grief and her homeland shapes a propulsive narrative that you won't want to put down."

Where Sleeping Girls Lie (2024)
Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
"Incisive and devastatingly insightful, Àbíké-Íyímídé rends a thriller in which every character is hiding painful secrets from themselves and each other, and true to life, justice is a hard-won thing. Where Sleeping Girls Lie paints an honest portrait of the rage of teenage girls and the catharsis found thereafter."
