Havlock

For readers familiar with the Spirit of Empire series, you will recall that Sky Knights was a spin-off from the main story line. Sky Knights is Sir Galborae's story about his return to Tranxte where he will fight gleasons who have been decimating his people. Colonel Gar Havlock is a main character in the story. I have received a number of inquiries concerning his back character and, in particular, an event earlier in his career that put his honor in question.Havlock's back story was originally a part of Sky Knights, but I cut it prior to publication in order to keep the story's focus on Sir Galborae. Nevertheless, I think you'll find this backstory interesting and informative. More important, I think you'll find it fun.So . . . happy reading! * * * *For readers unfamiliar with the series, the Empire is a massive, star-faring organization of civilizations that occupies a portion of our Milky Way galaxy. Creatures who resemble the Roswell aliens, the Chessori, invade the Empire, but they do so subtly, pretending to be simple traders. Little does anyone know that the Chessori carry an inbred mind weapon that completely incapacitates every species within the Empire. Rebels partner with the Chessori and help them infiltrate every level of Empire military and government. When the Chessori strike, the Empire is powerless.Earth to the rescue, of course! Out of the whole galaxy, only the people from Earth are immune to the Chessori mind weapon, the scree. However, Earth is classified as an emerging world and knows nothing about the Empire. Present day Earth is barely able to shoot rockets into space, let alone travel between the stars. The Empire takes volunteers from Earth to help them fight the Chessori. These volunteers have little knowledge of space travel, nor do they know how Empire ships and weapons work, but they learn enough to use these fighting tools, and they mount a counterattack against the Chessori.
