“You cannot leave Reeves Hall again. Here you will remain.”

Jane, the recently widowed Duchess of Coleford, has been left very little by her late husband. His great estate is entailed, and her only inheritance is a small sum invested in the funds together with a house in far off Cornwall named Penhale Manor. With her young daughter, she sets out to start a new life in this distant home, but Penhale Manor is not what she expects, and neither is her new neighbour, a man with a seemingly permanent scowl on his handsome face.

Brook Reeves wants the young widow gone. There are deep secrets harboured at Reeves Hall, and the duchess is far too inquisitive for her own good. Despite his many offers to purchase Penhale Manor, she stubbornly insists on staying in that crumbling house she has inherited.

Until one day, she ventures uninvited into his domain and sees things she must never tell the world about. There is only one solution. At Reeves Hall she must remain, his captive duchess.

Author’s note: My Captive Duchess is a slow-burn yet steamy romance set in Regency England with a science-fiction dimension. It is book one of a four-part series, The Reeves of Reeves Hall, set around the mysterious Reeves family who are not what they seem. However, this book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

Genre: Paranormal Romance
