Can’t a witch have breakfast in peace? Celeste’s day is derailed before it’s even begun when she spots a stranger wandering around in her backyard, but curiosity gets the best of her as he starts to explain why he’s there.

A famous thriller novelist is dipping his toes into the world of true crime and is digging up a cold case that has evaded Silverwood Police for decades, but just as he starts to get close to some answers he meets his untimely demise. With a box of his research and the author’s ghost hounding her, it’s now down to Celeste to uncover the tangled web of lies and suspects.

It’s becoming apparent that this town still has its secrets. Finding out more about where she now lives might be the key to catching the killer, but with so many different motives at play its hard to know where to look first. The deranged devotee? The rival writer? Or any of the dozens of fans that have recently turned against the author after he decided to abandon his most popular series?

Her romantic life is flourishing, even if everything else is a chaotic disaster. The Sprites in the attic have gotten louder and louder meaning that no one can get a decent night of rest. Sleep deprivation has already sent her sister barking mad. Oh, and there’s still a sinister spirit on the loose.

Celeste can only kick the can down the road for so long, but hopefully she can make progress before another body is found in Silverwood… whoops, too late.
