When Susan was out of a job, she accepted her friend Val Peacock's suggestion that she go to help out at Val's family home, Painterwood. She soon became more than a little involved with all the family - demanding Mrs. Peacock, her 'difficult' young daughter Penny, and her son, Roger. Susan found herself increasingly attracted to Roger, and felt that he returned her interest - but could she be sure that he had forgotten the glamorous Magda, to whom he had once been engaged?
