When a prominent Toronto lawyer is murdered on a foggy night in Bannerman Park, the entire city of St. John's is shaken. The crime is quickly pinned on Tom Fitzgerald, a down and out drinker with a troubled past. To the envy of the St. John's criminal defence bar, David Hall, a junior associate eventually ends up as the lead counsel on the most important criminal trail of the year.
