Whisper of Death

In this sixth volume in the Blue Satan mystery series, Hester Kean overhears a mysterious threat while touring the gallery in the dome of London's St. Paul's Cathedral. Later, learning that whispers can travel across the vast space - and believing the threat to be real - she takes note of the gentlemen in the gallery that day. The most likely suspect is Lord Wragby, the son of a powerful marquess, who spouts Jacobite sympathies and mercilessly pursues Hester's cousin Mary, in spite of being married. When Lord Wragby is murdered, Mary's lover James Henry is implicated, and Hester must work with the highwayman Blue Satan to clear him. The problem is that St. Mars (alias Blue Satan) has gone abroad after Hester failed to appear for their elopement. When he returns to claim her, this time neither will let anything separate them again.
