An Elizabethan love story. Rating love higher than duty or convention, they defied the rigid rules of the Elizabethan Court to marry without royal consent. When their secret was discovered they were imprisoned in separate quarters in the Tower of London. She was Lady Katherine Grey, sister to a queen and cousin to three reigning monarchs - and heir presumptive to Elizabeth I. He was Edward Seymour, Earl of Hertford, son of the executed Lord Protector. Both were to pay a high price for their audacity.
