It seemed too simple a job for Mr. Tolefree, that suave sleuth and his friend Mr. Farrar-simply to take a holiday in a delightful Breton village and while there to observe the activities of a rather strange, red-haired woman who was not at all hard to look at. When the job was over, Tolefree and Farrar returned to England to report--only to find that murder had been committed, just an hour before their arrival. What had the red-headed woman to do with it? Why had the mysterious stranger, who put up at the Inn the night of the murder, vanished next day? And did a certain discreet old attorney know more than he would reveal?
