The downward slide continues.

Anger. Violence. Hatred. Darkness. Evil. Death. Loss.

Over the past three years Danny had dealt with each physically and as emotions but as he overcame the villains who embodied those traits, he absorbed some of each to a point he no longer recognized who he was. What he needed was long term down time to relax, refocus, and reestablish who he was if only in his own mind. What he got was a phone call that promised anger, violence, hatred, darkness, evil, death, and loss. He felt himself slipping irreversibly away.

Though they hadn’t been together for years when Natalie and her fiancé are abducted before their wedding in Los Angeles, Natalie’s sisters, Sheila, and Kerry call the only person they know who cares enough to help locate and rescue Natalie. The question is who was the target? Natalie or Ricky Ortega, her fiancé?

When he arrives in LA, Danny makes a deal with Ricky’s father, a wealthy man with power and dark secrets to find the two victims and soon discovers a lot more is involved than what was presented. Those discoveries put Danny in jeopardy from different unknown factions, but the hunt takes a drastic twist when an old friend and a longtime adversary make a shocking appearance.

Out numbered and out of his element, Danny places a call to Tony for assistance although when it comes to dark places Tony may be a step ahead of Danny on that downward slope into the abyss. With the two battered and mentally anguished men determined to stop at nothing to rescue Natalie, they accept that when it is over, nothing will remain of the men they once were, possibly not even their lives.
