Room for a Lodger

It is 1970 when twenty-year-old Cathy falls in love with a young docker, Johnny Dean, and becomes pregnant. He offers to marry her, but unbeknownst to her his gambling has got out of hand and he owes favours to the wrong sort. To clear his debts he gets involved in a serious theft at the docks, which goes horribly wrong. Cathy is financially supported by 'the boys' and Johnny's family -- but it isn't easy looking after a baby as a single mother and she gets lonely. Then she is befriended by a handsome young antiques dealer ...Will friendship be enough for either of them? And will she be able to prevent Johnny finding out?
