Sometimes we all want to run away and just start over.

Amanda’s life has never been easy, but once she ages out of foster care, things are looking up. Until she’s in a horrific car crash that results in a ton of medical bills on top of her already overwhelming mountain of living expenses. One night, she comes home from working one of her three jobs to find her apartment robbed. Sick of the dangerous neighborhood and hoping to finally escape her misfortune, Amanda applies for a job as a housekeeper for a private lodge in Alaska.

Will is an ex-Marine, haunted by the things he’s seen and dealing with PTSD. He’d hoped to start again and find a new purpose when he decided to buy the rundown lodge in Kenai. Finally, after all his hard work, he’s ready to open the lodge for tourists and hired all new staff. When he meets his new housekeeper, Amanda, for the first time, he instantly feels something for her. He can’t stop thinking about her or about the sadness he sees in her beautiful eyes.

As Amanda tries to outrun her hardships and Will finds ways to deal with his PTSD, both are trying to create new lives for themselves – and they may just find one with each other.
