Therese Walsh recommends
The People We Keep (2021)
Allison Larkin
"Tender, tragic, and triumphant. Allison Larkin has created a cast of characters in The People We Keep that thrums with realismstripped bare, naked humanityand a story that stings of what it means to build the family you need when life doesn’t give that to you from birth. This is a story you will never forget. I loved it with all my heart."
Into the Unbounded Night (2020)
Mitchell James Kaplan
"Kaplan weaves an intricate literary tapestry to create a poetic exploration of early Judeo-Christian and Roman history. He builds a diverse yet connected cast of characters whose encounters inspire timeless self-examination and advance the course of history. An engrossing work not easily forgotten."
A Lily in the Light (2019)
Kristin Fields
"A Lily in the Light is a tender, heart-wrenching novel that considers the long-ranging effects of shattering loss upon a young dancer and her family. A haunting and beautifully rendered tale of survival and the careful tending to a wild and desperately needed hope. Highly recommended."
