‘A superb yarn that will grip wartime aviation fans.' Patrick Bishop, author of Fighter Boys.
Out of the Desert
Young, ambitious Royal Air Force pilot Peter Denhay is posted to an operational bomber squadron at the start of a major Italian offensive into Egypt. Joining the proud and distinguished XXI Squadron, Peter will risk everything to win the plaudits and reputation he desires. But his navigator, Charlie Kendrick, doesn’t see it the same way, and treats his new crew as a marriage of convenience.
That is until a series of unforeseen disasters befall the squadron – after their home base is attacked and its aircraft ambushed - suspicions are raised of a double-agent operating in their midst.
Braving Italian and German fighters, deadly flak, and a conspiracy of silence, Peter and Charlie enlist the help of Margot Dacre, a gifted intelligence officer with secrets of her own, in a race to prevent further setbacks before it’s too late.
The Night Service
Erich Stolcher, a cunning and brutal Gestapo agent, has devised a game to play British intelligence against itself. With the aid of a captured wireless set, he lures agents from the Special Operations Executive into a trap. After narrowly avoiding capture in Crete, war weary RAF officers Peter Denhay and Charlie Kendrick become embroiled in the German's deadly war of shadows.
Rekindling an old love affair with an intelligence officer named Evelyn Moore, Denhay begins flying agents out of occupied France. But Kendrick falls foul of his new commanding officer after a professional quarrel, and is dispatched to Bomber Command in disgrace. Shot down on his first sortie, he survives by hiding with a French family.
When Evelyn goes unexpectedly missing in an attempt to expose the deception, Denhay sets out to find her. Grounded and alone, the officer must contest with both the RAF and the enemy to rescue Evelyn from occupied France before Stolcher catches her.
The Unseen Enemy
Spring 1942.
Bomber Command suffers substantial losses.
Grieving from a personal loss, Royal Air Force pilot Peter Denhay is appointed to command a newly formed Special Duties bomber squadron. Its mission: to play a vital role in the destruction of the weapon.
But before it can be deployed, he must forge his unit into an effective force. He is aided in his mission by his friend and fellow officer, Charlie Kendrick - who has his own problem to deal in the form of Oleg Kushkin, an enigmatic Soviet spy.
Facing incompetence, in-fighting, and Service politics on arrival at his new station, Denhay has his work cut out for him.
A complex deception leads to a desperate battle in which everything is risked, and a suicidal mission to the heart of the Nazi war machine.
Tom Walker is a serving RAF Officer who joined after graduating from Kings College London in 2002.
