For family reasons, Gustav de Leeuw needed a wife - and quickly. For equally pressipg family reasons, Caroline desperately needed money. So they did a deal and she married him. It was to be a temporary affair and, Caroline assumed, in name only. But it seemed she had been assuming too much - for Gustav intended to have a real marriage, regardless of what Caroline felt or didn't feel about him. Unfortunately Caroline felt very deeply about him, knowing as she did so that he cared nothing about her. How could he be so coldblooded?
