Hester Young recommends
Silent Came the Monster (2023)
Amy Hill Hearth
"A deeply compelling novel rich with historical detail and surprising parallels to our modern world."
Final Girls (2017)
Riley Sager
"Part psychological thriller, part homage to slasher flicks and film noir, Final Girls has a little bit of everything: a suspicious death, a damaged heroine, an unwelcome guest who trades in secrets, and not a single character you can trust. Plenty of nail-biting fun!"
The Witching Elm (2014)
(Memento Mori, book 1)
C N Crawford
"C.N. Crawford's gripping YA novel combines dark and violent elements of Boston's colonial history with the magic and otherworldly evil of a contemporary urban fantasy. With friendship, romance, and plenty of action, THE WITCHING ELM will be an engaging read for teenagers and adults alike. I quickly consumed this tale of one city's long-buried sins come back to haunt its present."
