Louisa Young recommends
Speak to Me (2023)
Paula Cocozza
"A beguiling and unsettling modern love story, full of wit, bafflement and razor-sharp swipes at modern desperation. She loves her past; he loves his phone, the centre cannot hold."
Non-Fiction (2022)
Julie Myerson
"Nonfiction is compassionate, intelligent and bloody novel, where trust and love, motherhood and creativity crash and break on the rocks of addiction, treachery and confusion. Myerson's combination of ferocity and tenderness is unique."
Mother's Boy (2022)
Patrick Gale
"Patrick Gale's writing has an unmatched ability to take you by the hand and just casually, quietly, lead you in, and in, and in. It all seems so simple, and then you're in tears."
