Betrayal found me, masquerading under its overly used disguise we called love. I all too easily fell for it too. And now, devastation wreaked its polluting havoc through everything in my life.

In one fell swoop, my happiness crumbled around me because I trusted the wrong person. I loved the villain who had no plans for redemption being the king in his criminal world. Being nothing more than a pawn to get him closer to our team leader, my sister, he left my heart scathed. Broken in the lies he spun to gain my trust.

During the moments of feeling lost, I figured out my own plans to seek revenge. Unlike love, my disguise would be impenetrable, undetected. I’d hunt the caustic mastermind that took everything from me, and I’d do it right under his nose. This former FBI agent threw the book out the window and went off grid, joining an underground fighting ring he ran just to get a blade close enough to his throat to let his blood cover me from head to toe instead of my own crimson pool he left me to die in.

Everything about my plan was foolproof until some surprises caught me off guard. Aside from already giving my heart to the malicious man in charge of ruining my life, I found out someone within his ranks took it many years ago. Too bad I turned off my emotions to finish the job before arriving. Love held no power when it came to avenging my sister’s death. As hollow as my victory would be without her by my side, I, Juliet Janay Harlow, wouldn’t rest until I won this war. In the name of my friends he helped slaughter, for my broken heart, but most importantly, my sister he didn’t save.
