A mask.

My life required me to keep my mask in place, acting like I fit in but also understanding I never would. Grievance didn’t want her clients to know her stepdaughter was an Omega, so she denied being my relation to the opulent crowd. Socialites who wanted everyone to fit their posh mold of power, relishing in their packs of wealth, forgetting how gravely the commonfolk struggled on the other side of their gate.

Being burned and deceived by my father, she grew to hate me in his absence. She didn’t care that I already lost one mother and got abandoned by my father too. If anyone asked, I was only an employee at her country club. The only thing that kept me sane came from a dance studio outside the gate I went to after school. Once Upon an Omega gave refuge to young girls like me who didn’t have something good to go home to.

No one would know my birthright as an Omega until graduation because of the bracelet blocks minors wore, so I had time. But time was a tricky thing as my countdown to graduation grew closer. One masked performance and poorly timed heat later, my life was thrown into chaos with them at the very center of it all, glued together with more secrets than just my own. While I tried to carry on and pretend that they didn’t exist, a divine intervention had a different fate lined out for all of us.

TW: This is a Cinderella retelling, so it does contain an abusive stepmother. It gets a little physical toward the end of the book, but it's mostly emotional. Death of a parent for more than one harem member that's already happened before the book begins. Gambling. Drugs and alcohol.

Genre: Gay Romance
