Sam is a young boy abandoned by his birth mother and brought up in a world very different to what his parents would have liked.
Young Sam is taken in by a kindly couple who have no children of their own and do a good job within the constraints of their isolated life in the Highlands. Maggie is thrilled to have a baby to nurture and her husband Donald is simply happy she is happy.
But Sam is not your normal boy. His genes are special and he possesses powers that not even he is aware of. His genes can be traced back to an ancient civilisation.
As he grows so does his awareness, and over time, others become aware.
Unbeknown to them, British government Intelligence agents were interested in his mother's death -- linking it to a mysterious event and uncertain as to what motives lay behind it and who was involved.
Others are interested too and suddenly a report filed back in the 1970s is linked to MI9 reports of a strange community in the Pyrenees and they all point to the fact that we are not alone.
This is a book of what-ifs.
In Broken Promises we met Cassie -- who is by now Keeper of the Magnata and a significant figure in the community descended from the Hallanteans who had to leave their home so many centuries ago.
We know it through legend as Atlantis.
As man stares upwards at the stars, it is hard to imagine crossing such vastness. Those who are convinced we are regularly visited by aliens and UFOs (or UAPs as they are now known) are faced with eminent scientists who claim that space is just too big. They would claim that the expanding universe is doing so at such a rate that visitation by FTL vehicles is impossible.
For most of us, grainy photographs and dubious video footage, coupled with somewhat shaky personal testimony, more evidence is required before we come down on the side of those confirmed ufologists.
What if?
What if our advanced civilisation is not the first (or even the second) advanced civilisation?
What if mankind has already reached the stars and not by using rocket or FTL technology?
What if the descendants of those people are still here?
What if Sam might be a key to the answers that man is so desperately searching for?
Genre: Science Fiction
