This was read out loud to me by my wife on a road trip over the Christmas break, it's certainly not a Christmas-worthy tale for most readers. I'm not even sure I really want my name on a review of this book as others will now know I've been knee-deep in the effluvium that lingers on these pages but it's so amazing I just had to offer my two cents.
Lord of Dark Places is a kind of demon that takes the reader into dark places but the author has such an authentic voice and grasp of the writing craft that while his words can be cringe-worthy, for those who want an amazing read carved out of mythology, religion, racism, misogyny, homosexuality, war, patriotism, and a couple of unmentionables (spoilers), then daring yourself to read Lord of Dark Places should have you putting this relatively unknown book on your reading list. BUT, this is NOT for the faint-hearted.
Genre: Mystery
