James O. Born is a Special Agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). He has been involved in investigations in such areas as organized crime, violent crimes, economic crimes, drug cartels, and public corruption. It has now been fourteen years since Born started writing, and ironically, he has the same editor as W E B Griffin and Tom Clancy - the very authors he spent his time reading during those long surveillances years ago. Born currently lives in suburban Palm Beach County with his wife Donna, and two children, John and Emily.

James O Born recommends
Sweet Thing (2023)
David Swinson
"David Swinson's background of law enforcement gives Sweet Thing the sort of details that research can't produce. But it is his writing ability that brings this dark and disturbing story of questionable cops to life. I haven't felt this way about a book in years. I loved it!"
Chasing the Lion (2021)
(Garrett Sinclair, book 1)
A J Tata
"I was hooked from the opening scene to the thrilling end of Chasing the Lion. General Tony Tata uses his experience to give us a glimpse into the fascinating world of military intrigue with a real human touch."
The Last Girl (2017)
(Dexter Vega Mystery, book 1)
Danny López
"Danny Lopez’s novel about an out-of-work journalist drawn into a missing persons case hits all the right notes. The Last Girl is a fast and fun read."
