The Jack Widow Series: Books 7-9
(2019)(A book in the Jack Widow series)
An omnibus of novels by Scott Blade
This digital box set contains the seventh, eighth, and ninth thrillers:
The Midnight Caller: This one has Jack Widow in a NYC hotel when the phone rings from an internal line at midnight. A woman with a Russian accent pleads for his help. Saving her will propel Widow into an international conspiracy with Russian spies, American conspirators, and a missing nuclear submarine.
Fire Watch: This book starts with Molly DeGorne, who is standing in front of her blazing home and her DEA husband, who is still inside and dead. What looks like murder may be more heinous as she goes on the run from a group of armed mercenaries. She goes back to her summer job as a fire lookout in a California National Park where she meets the one man who can help her - Jack Widow.
The Last Rainmaker: This one pulls Widow out the hospital after a train wreck, where he is discovered by an old frenemy. CIA Agent Tiller wronged Widow in the past in a secret mission to North Korea that got Widow's team killed at the hands of the deadliest sniper who ever lived. Now, Tiller needs Widow's help to stop the same sniper, known as a Rainmaker. The sniper has reemerged taking out his victims from great distances. His target list: the world record holders for longest confirmed kills.
What Amazon readers are saying:
The Midnight Caller
"Such a good book. No slow moments. Do not miss this one."
"This is an excellent and enjoyable series."
"Scott Blade appears to have hit his stride and become very comfortable living as Jack Widow. Blade's tradecraft as an author is maturing, and some of his vignettes are really a treat to read."
"Looks like the good old spy games continue."
"Throw in an homage to a Tom Clancy classic "The Hunt for Red October" and how could any action/thriller fan resist. The good guys aren't always good, and the bad guys aren't always bad."
"It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of this series, and this was another killer for my action fix. I read a lot, and it always fascinates me how different books read. Some seem to take forever to get through and others, like this one, seem to fly by. I could have used a couple hundred more pages."
Fire Watch
"Absolutely breathtaking and fast pace action and suspense!! A+++++++"
"Love the Jack Widow series! Scott Blade has done it again...Bravo!"
"A great addition to an already impressive series."
"I read a lot of books, almost 100 last year and I can tell you that the books that make it to my shelf for the future are rare and even more rare is multiple books from the same author, but this is one of those books and one of those authors."
The Last Rainmaker
"From an ex-navy guy, I really enjoy the storytelling of this tale. My first adventure into Jack Widow's life of cloak and dagger danger. I will be reading additional sagas."
"Excellent! Jack Widow just gets better and better, lots of action around the world!"
"Look out Reacher he's catching you up!"
"Outstanding!"
"I thoroughly enjoyed the book. As a fan of Child, Thor, and Silva, this author ranks right up there."
