Billy Gardner arrives in Margarita Beach with two goals: learn the meaning of life and find the cosmic significance of the upcoming eclipse that’s going to pass over the town this summer. He ends up living with his uncle, a fisherman with a heart of gold who initiates Billy into the Margarita Beach Sailor’s Club by telling him the world’s longest joke.
Oh, and there’s the question of who burned down the Poop Deck, the town's oldest bar, and what the city's very insecure mayor and his wealthy family have to do with it. Billy will team up with a jaded costume designer/bartender named Susan (who claims to make the best margarita in town) to find out. Along the way he will meet the colorful characters who make this quirky beach town their home.
