AGNES CARMICHAEL IS BACK
Agnes knew a long-kept secret about her next-door neighbours which made them of vital interest to her. There was Bill Turner, a novelist, the lovely, vulnerable Stella, her small son, Bruce, a nanny, and a lanky, guitar-playing youth, Rick. And on the fringes of this strange menage, the sinister, manipulative Hebe.
But it wasn't until little Bruce disappeared (or did he?) that Agnes, an ex-nurse in comfortable retirement, became involved both practically and emotionally in a complicated case of origin and descent - and summary justice.
Agnes's disquieting exultation in secret knowledge and its consequent power, now recorded in over twelve 'Nurse Carmichael' novels, makes her a unique character in present-day crime fiction.
