Seeking peace after her brother's death in Vietnam, Michelle Bradshaw visits Israel with an elderly family friend. After abandoning her companion and their safe-but-boring tour group, she meets fellow Americans Ryan McLean--a handsome missionary working to establish friendly relations between Christians and Jews at a Kibbutz--and Bernard Silverman, a blatant womanizer with an interest in Kibbutz armaments. The three Americans attempt to lend constructive assistance at the Kibbutz, while tensions mount between Jordan, Syria, and Israel. When Arab air forces attack, Michelle is caught in the conflict. Ryan launches an all-out search for the woman he's come to love, clinging desperately to his faith, even as the death count mounts with terrifying rapidity.
