Benny Rega, a soldier in Red Fortunato’s mob, has a gambling addiction. He’s borrowed money from his captain, which he can’t pay back. He knows if he remains in Queens, he’s a dead man, so he skips out on Red and he heads west. While traveling, Benny stops for the night on tribal land and checks in to a rundown motel. The following morning, Benny uses his skills and repairs the structure, which impresses the chief, who offers Benny a job. When Benny has enough money saved, he calls Red and pays his debt to him. He then suggests a plan to Red that will make him, Red, and the tribal nation millions.
