A nearly superhuman Marine finds love in a most unusual way. When duty rips him from her, he uses any means necessary to stand at her side again. Chosen to lead the most powerful space force ever assembled, because of a fluke mixing of DNA with an Alien monster, Jake Matthews spares no entity standing in the way of his mission. He vows to forge an unbeatable engine of destruction, powerful enough to force peace across eternal space. Casserine provides a vista of future America, where citizens across the galaxies pledge allegiance to one Earth nation's flag. In so doing, they birth an empire of single minded purpose, and incredible power.
Fabulous book, I loved every second of it. Never a dull moment. Loads of action humour and yet again excellent story. - Piet du Preez
Most excellent blaster gun battles. Has numerous action events... I love it when a supervisor, earns his or her loyalty, by getting right in on the work with everyone else. This was a very different book, compared to most of DeLeos that I have read, but still found myself reading it at all hours of the day and night. - Big D 22
I'm not usually a sifi person, but Casserine grabbed my interest from the first chapter and held it throughout the book. The patriotic theme is a great sidebar to a very entertaining story. - Tom Chelette
The author really gets you into the action, and you will find your pulse racing at different points in time - you feel like you are right in the middle of it as a participant. If you're looking for a good space opera, I highly recommend this one. - Mary Ann
