Black Alice

An early Disch book written in collaboration with his friend and s/f colleague, John Sladek. A bizarre, satirical reworking of the "Alice in Wonderland" story, but under the guise of a (very good) suspense novel. Black comedy and morality play, Lewis Carroll and Erskine Caldwell, psychological thriller and social critique -- all these disparate elements are at play within this fantastic criminal romance.
