Saddlehorn City was out of Judge Lemuel Bates' normal territory, so he knew it meant trouble when he was asked to take over from another judge. Bates was a tough defender of the law, but it soon became obvious that the only chance for justice in Saddlehorn was the gun. Bates had walked into the toughest job of his career - and walking out was going to be even tougher.
