The City at the Top of The World
(2020)(The third book in the Ink Mage SideQuest series)
A novel by Victor Gischler
This 42,000 word NOVELLA is the final chapter in the INK MAGE SideQuest Trilogy!
Templeton Kane and the barbarian INK MAGE known as Lill have been friends and partners through many exciting adventures, but when the time comes for Lill to return to her home in the Glacial Wastes, she bids Templeton farewell, not wanting to entangle him in her troubles. As we begin The City at the Top of the World, we find Templeton has embarked on an arduous journey to the Glacial Wastes to catch up with Lill. He won't let her face these perils alone. Thus does he find himself on a trek to the most frozen, inhospitalble place in the world ... but not by himself. Mireen Hammish also seeks Lill, hoping for help with her new shadow powers which she can't control. The three of them get caught up in tribal politics, and the result is a quest to the lost city of the ancients. It is in this legendary place where the savage Werndig dwell.
The thrilling conclusion to all of Templeton & Lill's adventures.
Occasional strong language, brief adult situations, and gritty sword-stabbing action. The City at the Top of the World is a 42,000 word NOVELLA.
A word about SideQuests: Ink Mage SideQuests are meant to be shorter works set in the world of Ink Mage. Think of them as "in between meal snacks" while waiting for the books in the main series. Characters and situations might (or might not) appear in the main novels.
Genre: Fantasy
