William Hadley was born in 1964 and is the youngest of three brothers. He grew up on the family farm on the Isle of Wight. After attending Sparsholt agricultural college he returned to the farm for a year before working in Australia as a general farm labourer.
THE VILLAGE FATE, his first full length novel, draws on his experience in the agricultural industry as well as his love of horses and the environment. His main protagonist, Claudilia Belcher, is a patchwork of characteristics draws from people he has known.
In 1987 he married Liesl and they had 4 children. He now splits hit time between his family in Essex and the Isle of Wight, where he prefers to write.
