A Truthful Injustice

Simon Wyatt was married to a loving wife and wealthy; most would have said he was a man to be envied. Yet there were hidden fault-lines in his life and these had the potential to wreck his happiness if ever they became visible - which seemingly would become inevitable when his daughter and grandson were drunkenly assaulted by her husband, Detective Sergeant Tobin, who was later found dead. Detective Constable Metcalfe, whose career had stalled when his wife died, believed in truth and justice with a regard that many considered excessive.
