Owen King recommends
Memorials (2024)
Richard Chizmar
"Richard Chizmar's Memorials is, on the one hand, a showcase for his ability to create warm, insightful characterizations and, on the other, a funhouse ride that grows more and more sinister. It's an all-around terrific piece of storytelling by an author who really knows how to entertain."
Crypt of the Moon Spider (2024)
(Lunar Gothic Trilogy, book 1)
Nathan Ballingrud
"A superb and unnerving work of science fiction."
Whalefall (2023)
Daniel Kraus
"The primordial nightmare at the core of Whalefall is fantastically gripping. A character study developed in the most intense crucible imaginable, Kraus's latest novel is smart, surreal, and powerfully humane."
