Windrunner and the Changa

Young Adult short story, the third of the Stardancer campfire tales which have been described as "children's stories for adults." The Stardancer is a kind of shaman who conducts storytelling ceremonies for the tribe's children that last for days and nights at a time. The Stardancer is also a bit of a magician able to send the listener into the story settings and character and off onto other worlds whose creatures face the same challenges of honor and courage as the warriors of this world. "Windrunner and the Changa" is a rite of passage tale set upon an ice world where to become an adult a boy must face the biggest, fiercest, most horrible monster there ever was: The Changa
