When the Wolf Comes Home (2025) Nat Cassidy "Nat Cassidy's mind is insane, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Only he could come up with a story as unique and universally true as this. When the Wolf Comes Home deftly explores fear and the ways in which it can consume us in childhood and beyond. It's scary, it's wild, it's heartfelt, and there's nothing else like it. I promise you have no idea where this book is going, and you're going to love every page."
Blood on Her Tongue (2025) Johanna van Veen "A new gothic masterpiece. Blood on Her Tongue is decadent, full of gore and rot, and viscerally, relentlessly engaging. I devoured this one. Once you've tasted a little, you'll need more, then more, then more..."
Wake Up and Open Your Eyes (2025) Clay McLeod Chapman "Wake Up and Open Your Eyes is supercharged, gloriously maximalist, terrifying, and disgusting. But mostly it's tragic, and hits much closer to home than any of us want it to."
The Queen (2024) Nick Cutter "You may think you know where this story is going, and you will be totally wrong - Nick Cutter is at the wheel, and he's one hell of a driver! One of the most original books I've ever read. Relatable, surprising, and frightening from the first moment, in more ways than one."
Cold Snap (2024) Lindy Ryan "The frost bite fever dream that is fresh grief. I read this book in one sitting, and I still feel the chill. An ode to old school King and also something entirely new. Add Cold Snap to your holiday horror reading list, it's a must!"
So Thirsty (2024) Rachel Harrison "An outrageous romp, a sexy, scary, wacko heart-racer, and an ode to epic, once-in-a-lifetime, die-for-you friendship. I loved every character in this as much as if they were my own chosen family. The undead have never made us feel so alive! This is Rachel Harrison at her finest."
Bury Your Gays (2024) Chuck Tingle "This triumph of a book effortlessly and cleverly upends cliche. One of the best novels ever about LA, the film industry, and horror movies, it delivers all the fandom, fear, and feels, and then some. Only Chuck Tingle can tell a story as masterfully as this, and he once again proves that love is so real."
youthjuice (2024) E K Sathue "Youth and beauty have never seemed at once so desirable and repulsive. This book sickened me in the very best way. I don't know if I want to go run to get Botox or swear off beauty products forever, but either way youthjuice got under my (ever-aging!) skin and might stay there for a very long time."
When Among Crows (2024) (Curse Bearer, book 1) Veronica Roth "When Among Crows had me terrified, entranced, awe-struck, and quite literally at the edge of my seat. I dare you to try and stop reading. The kind of book that reminds us what human imagination and mysteries are made of. Magic and wonder as only Roth can do it. I'll never look at Chicago the same way again. These streets are brimming with dreams and nightmares, and I didn't want to wake up. The terrors and wonders of lore laid out in a dreamy, blood-dripping feast."
Radiant Heat (2024) Sarah-Jane Collins "A searing, gorgeous novel twisting and turning with obsession, grief, fear, and survival. Collins' writing is as fierce as it is thoughtful. You'll feel the blistering air in your lungs and the scorched earth beneath your feet. Radiant Heat will haunt you, long after the last page."
Fever House (2023) (Fever House Duology, book 1) Keith Rosson "My heart was racing from the first page of this book to the last. Fever House is propulsive, gritty, smart, rock and roll, and so terrifyingly real. Read this book!"
