Spring is just around the corner in Llandyfan, and the first crocuses are beginning to bloom. Then the beautiful morning is shattered by the discovery of a corpse in the glebe - the victim of a grisly murder. Who could have wanted poor Fred Woolton, the mild-mannered milkman, dead?
