Jessica Moor recommends

Hungerstone (2025)
Kat Dunn
"A sumptuous delight, Hungerstone combines gothic thrills with a feminist exploration of what it means to become estranged from our desires, and what it might mean if we let ourselves be whole. I feasted on it."

The Grief Doctor (2024)
Jack Anderson
"There are plenty of thrillers that keep you turning the pages, but only a few that live in your mind long after the final page is turned. Jack Anderson has written a thriller that is as intelligent, thoughtful and humane as it is compelling and addictive. A talent to watch."

River Sing Me Home (2023)
Eleanor Shearer
"A powerful story, beautifully told. Shearer skilfully depicts the cruelty of the British slave trade, contrasted with one mother's indomitable love for her children, and her burning will to live. An empathic, elegantly rendered and deeply humane novel."
