Stuart MacBride was born in Dumbarton, Scotland, moving with his family to Aberdeen at two years of age. From web design into writing was obviously an easy step. Stuart MacBride now lives in the northeastern section of Scotland (back in Aberdeen) with his wife Fiona - where he grows potatoes when he's not writing.

Stuart MacBride recommends
Grave Expectations (2023)
Alice Bell
"A delicious mashup of grisly murder, country house and semi-helpful ghosts - imagine a really cockeyed game of Cluedo heavily seasoned with whimsy ... it's a lot of fun."
Gallows Rock (2020)
(Freyja and Huldar, book 4)
Yrsa Sigurðardóttir
"One of the best books I've read for a long time: dark, creepy, and gripping from beginning to end."
The Whisper Man (2019)
Alex North
"A dark, creepy, thriller with a huge amount of heart. Damn, but Alex North can write!"
